All in (SC) Meet 1

Jack Jackson, Jacob Seemans, Shelby Gristede, and Andrew Truong all participated in the All in Meet held at SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre (SAALC). This was a last chance for our swimmers heading to the 2021 Sydney Open & Uni Nationals. Assistant Coach, Jack Jackson had a great meet by swimming his personal best times in almost all his races. Jack swam the following events; 50m Freestyle (27.50), 50m Butterfly (31.31), 100m individual medley (1:08.67), and 50m Backstroke (33.51). Jack amazingly dropped a whopping 0.97s off his 50m Freestyle, 1.34s off is 50m Butterfly, 3.11s off his 100m individual medley. These are amazing all time PBs!! Jack is on track to making qualifying times for Uni Nationals in 2022 at this rate!! Shelby had an outstanding day where she met a few qualifying times ready for 2021 Sydney Open & Uni Nationals. It was a rocky start as Shelby had a Women's Football game to get to by 3:30pm at Mt Lofty and was unable to complete the 2nd session of the day where she would have swam 50m Breaststroke, 200m Freestyle, and 100m Breaststroke. There was a bit of a discussion with the Meet's officials where she had to convince them to be able to swim the 100m Breastroke in the morning session during her 100 Freestyle race. Luckily Leanne Beames was there to the rescue and was able to assist Shelby in making that happen. Shelby swam a 1:26.20 and just missed the qualifying times or 2021 Sydney Open & Uni Nationals by 2.7 seconds. Shelby, however, was able to smash the 100m (1:11.63) and 200m (2:37.58) Backstroke qualifying time by 1.37s and 4.92s respectively. This puts Shelby in a good position heading into Uni Nationals. Head Coach, Andrew Truong had a rocky meet. Starting off with the 50m Freestyle touching the wall with a time of 26.90, Andrew missed the wall at his turn and lost some speed. His next race was the 50m Butterfly (his main event), Andrew swam a time of 28.33 which is a 0.06s PB from MSSA SC State Cup 3 weeks prior. Unfortunately for Andrew, he was distracted by the swimmers leaving the pool from the race before him. Andrew swam the 100m Freestyle with a time of 59.78 which is his second time going under sub minute. Andrew seemed to be reserved at the start and still had plenty in the tank in the last 25m of the race. Jacob swam the 200m individual medley (2:28.17), 200m Breaststroke (2:42.45), 100m individual medley (1:10.19), and 100m Breaststroke (1:14.75). Jacob managed to shave 2.12s off his 200m individual medley and has qualified for the 200m Breaststroke for Uni Nationals. Well done Jacob!! Well done to all our club members representing their respective Swimming SA Club at the All in Meet 1 and congratulations to all those who have met Uni Nationals qualifying times. achieving the qualifying time is not an easy feat.
